A Novel Reunion
Many of those old collegians who were at King's prior to the end of the 1970s will well recall the Badge of Honour worn proudly by those boys whose strengths lay in areas other than the classroom and who were streamed for the bottom class. For the third form this was 3GB.

A slightly novel reunion recently took place in a Newmarket restaurant for those who were in 3GB in 1967. The occasion was a visit to Auckland by Guy REDMOND (Selwyn 1967-71) and fellow class-mates in attendance were Derek WIGHT (Selwyn), Rob HUNTER (St Johns), Peter DRUMMOND (St Johns), Mark SISAM (St Johns), John ROWLANDS (Major), Ewan ROSS (Major) and Jim GERRARD (St Johns). They were joined by some in 3GA - the next class up - Ian GARNETT (Selwyn), David SHORTER (Selwyn), Mark GATWARD (Selwyn) and by Ross GREEN (Selwyn) 3GA in 1968 and Harry WAALKENS (Selwyn) 3GB in 1968.

(A quick glance over the personnel of the reunion shows that 3GB has been a great breeding ground for lawyers, financiers and entrepreneurs! - ED)
